Last year,an online publication claimed Benoise actress and singer, Ella Martins was reportedly in a 'relationship ' with Genevieve Nnaji after they took a picture at an event .I think she(Ella) refuted that claim and I thought the case was closed.Apparently, she is still on it.Now claiming she has not been herself since the rumour.. "I wanted to have an interview especially after the allegation of lesbianism between me and Genevieve Nnaji.Yes, it has affected my emotional life, because everybody now believes I am in a relationship with Genny and my family is not happy about it. It has really affected my career and image at home.It is something that is completely new to me. There has never been a time I was accused of being a lesbian. One little thing happened about me and Genevieve Nnaji and everyone now believes I am a lesbian. It is touching and depressing.

On how the allegation came about...

What happened is that Genny and I were in a club in Lagos and her phone got missing. Later, I think a paparazzi or someone got hold of it and started sharing some contents about me and Genny online. I don’t see anything abnormal in the pictures but people started talking that we must be lesbians and all.As normal persons and friends, we do take normal pictures at home and in other places but I don’t know why the online magazine showed Genevieve and I kissing, I am surprised and don’t know where they got those pictures from.We kissed, but it was nothing extraordinary, it was normal kiss between girls. I mean girls do kiss each other normally, even guys do too. When I was dating Fally Ipupa we used to kiss and now that we are separated and are good friends we still continue kissing like we used to. My fear is I receive strange calls saying that in a few days’ time they will be releasing more pictures about us.

You still received calls over the incident?

I am a very popular figure in my country and a lot of people are jealous of me. So many of them would like to see me go down and this may be a good excuse for them to start something.

When they call you on phone, do they ask for anything or sound like blackmailers?
No, just to say they will expose our dirty secret and I don’t have any dirty secret.
If you have no dirty secret why are you now scared?
You don’t understand, even the pictures they released online was worked on, adulterated to make it look different from the actual pictures. We kissed as normal girls, not as romantically or sexually as they projected in the pictures posted online.
What is the relationship between you and Genevieve Nnaji?
We have been good friends since 2004. We met when Kenis Music organised an award and since then we have been good friends. We talk often and whenever I am in Lagos we meet up and have fun as friends. I have had no peace since the pictures leaked online. Everybody now calls me Genny’s wife back home.
Sincerely, are you and Genevieve Nnaji sexually involved?
No, never. I am neither a lesbian nor is Genevieve. We are just two close friends, showing profound emotions for each other by kissing.
You said you once dated Fally Ipupa, or is it that you are heterosexual?

USA Track Star, Torrin Lawrence Killed In Auto Crash

One of the best sprinters in USA, Torrin Lawrence has died. He died early hours of this morning after his car was struck by a tractor trailer, officials say.

Lawrence was driving in Georgia around 1:40 AM this morning, when his car came to a stop after he lost one of his tyres. He got out of the car to call 911, but a big rig struck the vehicle, which knocked the car into him. Lawrence died in the wreck. He was 25.

Heart Breaking Story Of How Policemen Tortured 29-Year Old Man To Death In Agege

…How police rushed him to the hospital

…Died in the presence of his parents

…Neighbours said he was a gentle man

Policemen attached to the Elere Division, Agege, Lagos on Thursday raided Ajayi Ibe Street, arresting and torturing three suspects, one of which died the following day.

Punch Metro learnt that the victim, identified as Kazeem Oyolola, had been a resident on the street for about one-and-a-half years.

It was further learnt that Oyolola, an indigene of Oyo State, who was single and about 29 years, died at a private hospital in the area on Friday after the beating by the policemen.

Our correspondent gathered that at about 10.30am on Thursday, Oyolola and two of his friends went to a beer shop opposite his residence, where they were taking drinks.

A police van with four policemen was said to have driven into the street and went to an unknown destination. However, when the van was returning, the policemen were said to have arrested the three men.

It was learnt that the police had arrested Oyolola and his friends as suspected Internet fraudsters, otherwise known as Yahoo boys.

Our correspondent further gathered that while at the station, the policemen had allegedly tortured the three men to make them confess to the crime, during which Oyolola slumped.

The policemen, it was learnt, then rushed him to a nearby hospital in the area, and allegedly told the medical personnel that Oyolola was drunk.

However, as a result of the wounds sustained, he was said to have died in the hospital at midnight in the presence of his parents who travelled to Lagos after they learnt of his arrest.

When our correspondent visited the area, an eyewitness, said the police simply dragged the three men inside the van without any explanation.

She said, “I was sitting in front of my shop when the police van passed. They had initially come during the sanitation to pursue some traders away, but when they got here, we were already through with the exercise.

“Kazeem and his two friends were relaxing in the next shop. The policemen just asked them to come inside the van, and took them away. We did not know what they were arrested for. In the afternoon when we went to the station, we were not allowed to enter.

“At evening time, when I came back to check, I heard he had been taken to a nearby hospital, and that his condition was critical. By the next morning, we heard that Kazeem had died, while his two friends who received similar wounds had been released by the police to go and take care of themselves. The youth in the area staged a protest against the incident.”

When our correspondent got to the hospital where Oyolola died, the nurses and doctor on duty declined to give any comment on the matter.

At Oyolola’s residence, a tenant who begged for anonymity noted that when she visited him at the hospital on Thursday evening, Oyolola’s hands and legs were swollen, and he could not speak.

She said, “When I got to the hospital, his parents had arrived to look after him. His hands and legs were swollen. His mouth was wide open and he could not talk. You could see several bleeding spots all over his body. I do not know what information the police received, but I can tell you that Kazeem is an easygoing man in this area. He is a trader who deals in Aluminium products, and he has a younger brother who stayed with him. He should not have died in this cruel way.”

Our correspondent learnt that on Friday morning from about 10am, a large number of aggrieved youths in the area protested Oyolola’s death to the police division. However, they were said to have been resisted by the Rapid Response Squads, who allegedly shot into the air to scare away the protesters.

Oyolola’s corpse, as of the time of report, was said to have been deposited at a morgue in Yaba, Lagos.

The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said she would call our correspondent back, but had yet to do so at the time of going to press.

Lagos State To Begin Search For Those On The Plane With Liberian Ebola Victim

The Lagos State commissioner for Health, Dr.Jide Idris has announced that the State has instigated a search for those on the same flight form Togo to Lagos with Liberia’s Patrick Sawyer who died last Friday in Lagos of Ebola virus.

The commissioner announced that it was mandatory in order to prevent the spread of the deadly virus in the state, which many in-turn spread across the nation.

We are going to trace all of them, each one of them is going to be questioned. There is a protocol they will follow in terms of questioning. They are going to be monitored in the next 21 days to see if any of them has the symptoms.
